Living with White Couches

When I first went couch shopping for my first apartment nearly 3 years ago, I was completely stuck on a white couch. I could not get away from the idea! They are so beautiful and can be styled so easily! Obviously, the concern was that it would get dirty, but at the time we had no animals and no kids, so I figured WHY NOT. And that is the story of how we ended up purchasing the Ikea Ektorp Couch & Loveseat.

Three years in, one 110 pound Bernese Mountain dog and one cat added to the mix, and I can honestly say I am so happy with it! Unlike some other white couch options, this couch is completely washable. You can remove every cover, bleach the crap out of it, wash, & put back on your couch easily. Getting it back onto your cushions really isn’t as difficult as I had anticipated. The covers are a little tight after the dryer, but they still fit like a glove, and don’t shrink. Lord knows I’ve washed that couch several times over the past three years between muddy paw stains, spilled drinks, and more! The shape has held up well and it still looks pretty much brand new. It’s comfy too! If I’m being honest it’s not the *most* comfortable I’ve ever sat on, but definitely worthy of Netflix binging.
