Dreamy Baby Shower Details

Party planning has quickly become one of my favorite things to do – it can be stressful leading up to the event, but I love the planning process and the finished product!! I recently hosted the dreamiest baby shower for a friend of mine, Andjela! It took weeks of planning and a few hand built pieces of furniture, but it turned out so pretty! Sharing the details today!

Andjela is having a baby boy, so we decided to go with a baby blue color scheme – I wanted it to stay very light and soft, so we went with accents of white and silver.

Invitations

The first step to any party is the invitations! We decided to print & mail invitations to the guests. I used this Etsy template that I love! Then I printed on cardstock, cut, and addressed/sent the envelopes. The envelopes were a pretty light blue to match the invites.

Table Settings

The table settings are by far my favorite part of any party. I cannot get enough of a good tablescape. For this set up, I went with silver chargers, white plates, light blue napkins, and clear goblets. Believe it or not, I got most of my place settings from the dollar store! They have the best stuff!

The centerpieces were white taper candles in clear glass holders, faux eucalyptus (my absolute favorite greenery), and sheer light blue table runners. It came together really well against the tables!

Farmhouse Tables + Benches

Let’s talk tables! When I first offered to host, I had a specific vision that involved these beautiful farmhouse tables and benches all lined up and matching. So I decided to make them! Thankfully, I picked up woodworking during quarantine and have been working on my skills since! We decided to go with the design that matched our current dining room table, so I could use that one and save myself an extra table to build. They aren’t too difficult to build, however, they are time consuming!

JC & I ended up building and staining two tables and four benches for the party! A special shoutout to my parents for helping us in the last couple days before the party! They really helped me get everything squared away and finished up at the last minute.

Back Drop

I had to get a little creative and figure out a DIY for the backdrop! I decided PVC pipes and white curtains would do the trick for what I needed. I originally used this tutorial to put it together, but I made it longer and a little different to allow for the amount of curtains I had. Then it was a little unstable with the weight of the curtains and the thickness of the pipes, so we had to stake it in the ground to stabilize it. Once that was done, I hung the curtains, wrapped faux eucalyptus around the top, and hung a silver, cursive baby balloon from Party City.

Crafts + Activities

I wanted to try something new and unique for baby shower games. After a couple Pinterest searches I found some new ideas that were so cute! We did building blocks that our guests could draw on with paint pens, and coloring book pages that, when complete, will become the baby’s first ABC book!

Both the crafts took a good amount of time and were so fun and cute! I would definitely recommend both of them! The wooden blocks were from Amazon along with the paint pens. I got the baby’s first ABC book pages from Etsy and printed them on cardstock paper.

Brunch + Mini Donuts

We did an early party (started at 11am) so we went with a light brunch with bagels, assorted fruit, croissants, and danishes.

Then we had a few mini desserts including mini donuts! I made the mini donuts the night before using this recipe! You’ll need the donut mold pans for baking. It was surprisingly easy! Then after the donuts cooled, I made the frosting on the recipe page, and used blue food coloring in the frosting and dipped the donuts. For the marbled look, I dropped a few blue food coloring drops and used a fork to spin it around, but not completely mix it, then dip a donut in it. You can only get a couple good dips before it turns completely blue so it’s a little challenging!

Mimosa Bar

The obvious choice for a brunch party is a mimosa bar! We served assorted juices, fruit, and Prosecco. The plant wall made the perfect backdrop!

Favors

Last but not least, we went with mini champagne bottles for favors our guests! I found these cute tags on Etsy, printed and cut them, and used white string to tie them to the bottles!
