DIY Outdoor Chair
One of my favorite recent projects was our DIY Outdoor Chairs! I needed something comfy and that would match our other patio furniture. I couldn’t find anything that I liked and was affordable so I decided to make my own! I used these plans to build them. It was pretty straight forward! Just pocket holes and 2x4s!
First I started by getting all my lumber together and cutting the pieces according to the plan. Then I used this pocket hole jig with a drill to make the pocket holes, and pocket holes screws to assemble the pieces!
One chair took about an hour and a half to put together. Definitely make sure you use a level for that bottom piece!
Next up was paint! I used an exterior latex based black paint and did about 3 coats to really cover it. Make sure you paint the bottom as well – it’ll help protect the wood.
Once they were painted, I had to get some cushions! I found some great white ones on Etsy here that fit perfectly to the size. The covers are also from Etsy and linked here. They’ve held up really well so far! I leave them out int he rain and everything without issue. The covers come off pretty easily so you can wash them too!
All done and pretty! Let me know if you use the plans and build your own!
